Hand-coloured pochoir from the rare Parisian fashion publication, Les Feuillets d'Art: an artistic project by Lucien Vogel, editor of Gazette du Bon Ton, which appeared intermittently between 1919 and 1920. The privileged rider in fancy civvies reflects on the honour and admiration the ordinary soldier in the ranks inspires. During wartime the pochoir artists frequently used their 'art contracts' as a vehicle for their political and nationalistic sentiments.
