These 4 serigraphs accompany the deluxe illustrated book "The Fifties" published by Edition La Humier, Paris (1988) with introduction and text by Werner Spies to celebrate the artist's 80th birthday that year. These 4 works represent what Werner perceived to be cardinal Vasarely works during the 1950's.
In the set of 4, on heavy weight velin d'arches, 3 are marked as edition 44/175, lower left, the 4th piece designated the same and signed by the artist in pencil, lower right.
