Georges Lepape
Lassitude (1912)
Pochoir
This is a hand-colored plate-signed pochoir print which has an important role in pochoir history as Plate VIII of the very first issue of the Gazette du Bon Ton (1912). The earliest GBT issues are more rare and particularly known for their exquisite pochoir technique and saturated colours, and issue No.1 is one of the best. With the flare of the Poiret gown and the impish face, this one is classic Lepape and much sought-after. H 9.625in X W 7.5in H 24.4cm X W 19.1cm
