Georges Lepape
Belle Imperia
Pochoir
This is a hand-colored plate-signed pochoir print produced as Plate #59 of issue #8 of the Gazette du Bon Ton - 1921. The classic whimsical Lepape portrayal of a high deco Bianchini evening coat. It was becoming his custom to present fabric design in a flat dimension, which was also in keeping with the new Cubist geometric minimalism. Tiny speck top left margin is the only minor flaw in this otherwise pristine piece. On crème heavy laid artist's paper with no tears, folds or foxing. h.9.625in X w.7.5in h.24.4cm X w.19.1cm
